[Popcorn Stand] – Igor
NOW SHOWING
Igor
86 minutes
[Gv.com.sg] – In a land of mad scientists and diabolical inventions, what do you do when you’re born with a hunch on your back?
You become an Igor.
A hilarious twist on the classic monster movie, “Igor” tells the story of one Igor who’s sick of being a lowly lab assistant with a Yes Master’s degree and dreams of becoming a scientist. When his cruel master kicks the bucket a week before the annual Evil Science Fair, Igor finally gets his chance.
With the help of two of his experimental creations – Brain, a brain in a jar who’s a little light on brains, and Scamper, a cynical bunny brought back from being road kill, Igor embarks on building the most evil invention of all time, a huge, ferocious monster. Unfortunately, instead of turning out evil, the monster turns out as Eva, a giant aspiring actress who wouldn’t hurt a fly.
Just when the load on his back can’t get any heavier, Igor and his band of monstrous misfits uncover an evil plot that threatens their world. Now, they must fight to save it and prove that heroes come in all shapes and sizes.
Dreams may no longer be secret with Japan computer screen
Wow saw this in the news i think….yesterday…Japanese Scientists now has the ‘ability’ to read your mind…No this isn’t a spoiler for next week’s finale episode of Heroes ^.^.
So if this new development becomes highly successful to humans…wonder we are able to see what animals dream of…i’m sure they do dream lol
TOKYO (AFP) — A Japanese research team has revealed it had created a technology that could eventually display on a computer screen what people have on their minds, such as dreams.
Researchers at the ATR Computational Neuroscience Laboratories succeeded in processing and displaying images directly from the human brain, they said in a study unveiled ahead of publication in the US magazine Neuron.
While the team for now has managed to reproduce only simple images from the brain, they said the technology could eventually be used to figure out dreams and other secrets inside people’s minds.
“It was the first time in the world that it was possible to visualise what people see directly from the brain activity,” the private institute said in a statement.
“By applying this technology, it may become possible to record and replay subjective images that people perceive like dreams.”
When people look at an object, the eye’s retina recognises an image that is converted into electrical signals which go into the brain’s visual cortex.
The team, led by chief researcher Yukiyasu Kamitani, succeeded in catching the signals and then reconstructing what people see.
In their experiment, the researchers showed people the six letters in the word “neuron” and then succeeded in reconstructing the letters on a computer screen by measuring their brain activity.
The team said that it first figured out people’s individual brain patterns by showing them some 400 different still images.

Japanese student demonstrates walking in a virtual world, on a flat screen monitor, with the character controled by his brain waves, in Yokohama, in 2007. A Japanese research team has advanced even further by creating a technology that could eventually display on a computer screen what people have on their minds, such as dreams.
[myBook] – This Mess is NOT OKAY
Went to the Airport a few weeks back, a late post due to the exams this week and needed the time to do some last minute revision. Anyways spotted this on several tables that I found ‘eye-catching oO’.

The problem with this new campaign to promote individuals to clear their trays after they have finished their food is that…
1. The place that you have to walk and place your tray is quite far…
2. The tray area is often quite small and therefore once filled up…other people can’t put their trays or even stack as the bowls/plates might all fall down.
Solution! (yes there is one i can think of)
Instead of having a table where everyone makes a mess…they should implement slots where one can ’slot’ in their tray…much like the ones that IKEA uses. This would also take up less space ^^ .
